The perfect goal! The dazzling defense and the flawless throw! Over the decades, this game has evolved as a religious revelry, cut throat competition and crowd pulling event. Though, it might appear as a cake walk on blockbuster movies, in real life, it’s not less than a Herculean job. Thus, training techniques play a very vital role in the game of soccer. It hardly matters, which soccer star we figure out, as they have reached the celebrity status with their perfect moves and shakes, only through committed training.

Well, if you want to make that perfect shot which cheers the entire crowd with spellbinding awe, you need to train yourself. Here are some ways through which you can use the various aspects of training for your betterment.

Add competition

Ever questioned why the soccer players, indulge in group practice sessions for recharging their batteries? The reason is downright simple. Having the entire team practice provides real competition, zeal and spark to the rehearsals. The player observes, learns and practices. In the same manner, if you are aspiring to be the next soccer heartthrob, indulge in practice. But don’t carry on with this ritual by being alone. Grab a friend to train with. There would be an apparent addition of drills and competition to your sessions.

You can practice a bagful of drills. You even get to pass at both the long and short levels. It would enhance your hold on the ball and make it difficult for the defender to get hold of the director, momentum and speed of the hitting ball. Practicing with a mate also help in improving your one v one dribbling. Thus the three most important aspects which are definitely witness a marked improvement are your dribbling ability, awareness and defending ability.

Consistency defined by space

Just like choosing the right soccer partner is important, it’s also necessary to prefer an appropriate place to play the game. Ever though that even a wall can help you in this regard? Well, amazingly, it can. For example, while making a pass at the wall, try and hit at one spot only. You can hit with both your legs and your hands and it would thus, improve your hitting strokes, your stamina to stop or catch a ball and your relapse time spent in this deal.

The best touches

In case of individual training, having the best touches on the ball, plays a pivotal role. Apart from developing your dribbling skills do make sure that you also maintain the potential. Whether its body swerve or mere dummy tricks, everything holds essence when use to beat defenders. In order to make them 2nd nature, constant training is very important. In order to practice your moves, it’s advised to dribble on the cones. Rather than training yourself on just one cone, prefer using two, which are at a distant apart from each other. This would enhance your defenders stride and you develop the speed for quick drills around the cones to surpass the defender.

Thus, rather than hunting for best coach, a lot can be done through individual training.

Becoming a flawless defender is not a cakewalk. In fact, it’s not just about being a defender which matters; any position of soccer requires training, stamina and practice. But it’s not necessary that the practice, in which the player has to indulge, requires paramount physical effort. A bit of serious questioning and groundwork always pays.

An excellent topic! Indeed, more than just hiring the best coach around, self training is the best kind of training an individual can ever get. Like you said, using multiple cones to practice dribbling skills will definitely help.

Its true that the entire team practice provides real competition, zeal and spark to the rehearsals. The player observes, learns and practices better as he play with team rather than practicing alone.

A point of notice in individual training is that it not only gains less practice but it also reduces players interest in the game so it should be avoided.

I have always felt that training has everything to do with how well you play. Individual training is important and I like the idea of using more than one cone.
