Soccer Coaches: The Terrible Mistakes Which Causes the Downfall of Their Teams
If you crave to be a soccer coach, you need to have impressive field vision and soccer skills. Conferring a winning edge to your team needs persistence, stamina and potential. Being a soccer coach, a lot of expectation piles on you, this needs to be handled. The players are not born genius who can drill, pass and goal. In fact, the coach casts his impression, his experience and his metal in the players.
But, just like any human, a soccer coach cannot be flawless. There are various mistakes made by coaches, which play a pivotal role in shattering the carrier of various players. The mistakes are top most disasters, as the entire match is played on the blink of victory and defeat. The distinguishing line becomes more prominent due to the inability of the coach.
Absence of tools
Most of the teams don’t have the tools available when they arrive at the practice session. It’s not just that the player’s valuable time is wasted; rather it creates a very discouraging impact on the player’s psychology. Great teams have achieved the last impossible goal, triggering for their victory, just at the nick of time. Thanks to competent facilities and equipments. Thus, its compulsory for every coach who wants to register regular victories, to have every little necessity, downright available before the player sets his foot in.
Too demanding coaches
Some of the teams are unfortunately nabbed in the clutches of extremely demanding coaches. If on one hand, there is a category of coaches who are quite relaxed regarding the practice sessions, on the other hand, the other category believes in fierce practice. At times, the players are not able to recharge their batteries, their lost energy and healing or recovering period. This creates a lot of problems for those players who are teeming with indomitable zeal and fervor but lack appropriate channels to balance their physical, mental and emotional needs. Some of the after effects of such vigorous practice sessions are
Loss of interest and weakening of skills
Some of the coaches don’t indulge in specifying the do’s and don’ts of the game to the player. They believe that the player if sharp enough to grab the basics. This is one of the terrible mistakes, as it hardly matters whether it’s a national or local team. While playing, the player has to be directed properly rather than being provided by deluding signals.
Loss of motivation of the players as well as excess exhaustion could also be the reasons. Ultimately, it’s very important for all the coaches to understand the exact need of the players. Everyone cannot be excellent in every move, but they can be groomed to be so. They are not practicing or gearing up to crack the Da Vinci Code. They are just getting coached for playing soccer and they deserve the best in it. Great teams have evolved and vanished, time after time, only on account of their coaches. Thus, every coach should understand the seriousness of his position before opting for this profession.

It almost sounds like the coach has to have a players mentality which makes a lot of sense because he has to demand the respect of the players and there’s nothing more a player respects than a players coach, one of the guys.

mike,
i played for the national team in the us, and i’m pretty encouraged to see an entrepreneur in the soccer space engaging with social media (i came over here from digg because it was acting up). who are you? you just friended me, and i’m not sure how that happened, but i like the online store and i’m curious as to what your main line of work is. i’m not a huge digger, but hit me up because i think you’d make an interesting conversation. i know a large chunk of the MLS’s players, and a number overseas, so i’d love to chat.

I don’t think that an experienced coach is a mistake. In fact the problem is The Ego. If both The coach and the players rectify this problem the issue is solved.

Finally, the responsibility of national football team depends on the coach. It is advisable that the Nations football council accordingly select the coach rather then blame it on the man.

I feel the biggest flaw is the absence and proper user of tools that should be utilized to bring out the best in the players.

The coach is the main motivating factor in the team, and if he isn’t upto the stature as expected by his players, then the team is in trouble.

With the advent of Sports and Performance consulting into the domain of coaching, this topic assumes greater significance. These experts not only look into any weak links in the team of players, but also play a big role in determining if the coach has it in him to manage the side well. Like you pointed out, coaches should be more liberal when it comes to using of practice tools.
